I recently shared a message with you entitled “Enough is enough” which represents a spiritual declaration that one will live the abundant life. You refuse to be susceptible to the schemes of the enemy as well as our personal failures that prohibit us from becoming all that God wants us to be.

But declaring enough is enough is only the first part of your restoration to the abundant life that God wants you to live. While it’s important to admit that we are not living the abundant life, there must be action behind the words. The declaration of enough of enough must be accompanied by actions on your part if you are to walk in total victory.

1 Samuel

“1There was a man named Elkanah who lived in Ramah in the hill country of Ephraim. He was the son of Jeroham and grandson of Elihu, from the family of Tohu and the clan of Zuph. 2Elkanah had two wives, Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah had children, while Hannah did not. 3Each year Elkanah and his family would travel to Shiloh to worship and sacrifice to the LORD Almighty at the Tabernacle. The priests of the LORD at that time were the two sons of Eli--Hophni and Phinehas. 4On the day Elkanah presented his sacrifice; he would give portions of the sacrifice to Peninnah and each of her children. 5But he gave Hannah a special portion* because he loved her very much, even though the LORD had given her no children. 6But Peninnah made fun of Hannah because the LORD had closed her womb. 7Year after year it was the same--Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle.* Hannah would finally be reduced to tears and would not even eat. 8"What's the matter, Hannah?" Elkanah would ask. "Why aren't you eating? Why be so sad just because you have no children? You have me--isn't that better than having ten sons?"

Hannah's Prayer for a Son

9Once when they were at Shiloh, Hannah went over to the tabernacle after supper to pray to the LORD. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance. 10Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the LORD. 11And she made this vow: "O LORD Almighty, if you will look down upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the LORD, his hair will never be cut." 12As she was praying to the LORD, Eli watched her. 13Seeing her lips moving but hearing no sound, he thought she had been drinking. 14"Must you come here drunk?" he demanded. "Throw away your wine!" 15"Oh no, sir!" she replied, "I'm not drunk! But I am very sad, and I was pouring out my heart to the LORD. 16Please don't think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow." 17"In that case," Eli said, "cheer up! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him." 18"Oh, thank you, sir!" she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad.
19The entire family got up early the next morning and went to worship the LORD once more. Then they returned home to Ramah. When Elkanah slept with Hannah, the LORD remembered her request, 20and in due time she gave birth to a son.

We can learn some important lessons from Hannah on achieving the abundant life;

1.Go to the Lord

We can see that Hannah got to a point in her life where she was simply tired of not having what she wanted. She was tired of being depressed, lonely and tired of being without. Year after year she struggled with this pain. Year after year she was embarrassed, ashamed, and at the mercy of her tormentor. She simply purposed enough was enough. She was not satisfied with her life as it was, she wanted more!

The first thing she did was seek out the Lord; the bible said she went to the Tabernacle. There she wept bitterly before the lord. You have to recognize that you can not achieve the abundant life without God and therefore you are going to have to go to him in brokenness, prayer and supplication. These prayers were not simply, “Lord, I need this or that” she wept, she was in anguish! How bad do you want to live abundantly? Do you want it bad enough like the blind man on the road that continually screamed for Jesus when everyone told him to shut up? Some people are scared to go to the altar for prayer because they are more worried about what everyone else would think than getting from God what they need.
Those are the ones that leave church in the same condition they were when they arrived, they simply was not desperate enough. Another thing she did was be very specific in her prayers! She told God exactly what she wanted.

Luke Chapter 8:43 accounts another woman who achieved the abundant life after declaring enough was enough!

43And there was a woman in the crowd who Recognize its going to take some time. had had a hemorrhage for twelve years. She had spent everything she had on doctors and still could find no cure. 44She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.

Like Hannah, this woman was searching for 12 years for her breakthrough, 12 years of pain. The bible says that she spent all that she had, she saw doctors, counselors, missionaries, saints and friends and yet she could not be made whole. She was not living abundantly. Biblical custom depicts that she wore a bell around her neck and lived outside the camp as leper. Everywhere she went, she had to yell out, “Unclean” how humiliating it must have been. She wanted her life back!

Also like Hannah, she reached a point of desperation where not only did she yell out enough was enough, but there must have been something in her belly that looked at her life and said, “you are better than this!”

She sought the Lord

2.Change old habits and routines

The way you use to live is not working, the things you use to do, didn’t work, so stop! You have to realize that if you want God’s blessings you will have to get off the fence and do it His way! The bible states that after Hannah prayed, she left that church feeling great and she was sad no more. You can not achieve live abundantly if you continue to do the things you use to. You can not continue to live a life that is not pleasing Him and expect Him to give you the desires of your heart. You may have to lose some friends, drop some bad habits, and live with the consequences of your former life if you want to live the abundant life. You have to be all Gods, if you’re lukewarm; the bible says He will spit you out. It will not be easy as you change your life to align to Gods plan, but He will be there to strengthen and encourage you every step of the way.

Too many of us are not achieving the abundant life because we won’t change our lifestyles to align with Gods word so He can work with us or we simply do not believe He can do it in the first place.

Your Lifestyle must align with Gods words and principles.

Do you want prosperity-Tithe!
Do you want Healing-Honor your body!
Do you want a deliverance from an addiction to alcohol, stay out the bar!

There has to be work on your part, the only free pass God gives us is Salvation, the rest we have to work for. He is with us, giving us the strength but we have to show ourselves faithful.

3. Walk in Victory!

Once Hannah stopped her depression, she lived a life as if what she wanted was already done. In fact she believed it so much the next morning she got up and worshipped the Lord. The woman with the issue of blood knew that Jesus would heal her, she pressed her way in, and she didn’t ask someone to move she pushed her way through. She already saw herself healed. You have to see yourself as God sees you, strong, victorious, prosperous, and healthy! Start praising God now for what He has done instead of waiting until it comes; it’s already done in the supernatural. It will manifest in due season in the natural if you faint not.

4.Recognize its going to take some time.

The bible says in due time Hannah gave birth to a son. She may have had to wait months before she conceived, but she waiting patiently believing in the prayers that were sown, her lifestyle that was changed, and the victory she was walking in. I know even though she did not become pregnant right away, she probably still went out and bought baby clothes! The bible doesn’t say how long the woman with the issue of blood had to walk or how many people she had to push her way through but it must have seemed like miles. Yet she pressed on because she “knew” that if she pressed toward the goal she would receive the prize! Do not let time destroy your resolve that you are living abundantly!

Finally, when you do achieve all that you asked for; go back and give the Lord praise!

Both Hannah and the woman with the issue of blood gave thanks to the Lord for what He had done. There’s a story about a man that prayed earnestly for a car, he went to church on the bus but each week, he prayed and believed one day the lord would bless him with a car he not only needed but wanted. Well weeks went by and the man didn’t show up for church so the deacons gathered one day to pray and someone said, “what ever happened to the brother that prayed for the car?” The other deacon replied, “He drives by the church each Sunday, in a new BMW.”

Understand, God will not be mocked and He will not be used. Always remember to give Him thanks for all He has done and will do.

So my friends, how bad do you want to live the abundant life?

If you realize that you are not living abundantly, living in the fullness of what God intended you need to do the following things:

Enough to cry out to God
Enough to change your life
Enough to walk in victory
Enough to wait

But most importantly you need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Without Him, you can never walk in victory; you will never live the abundant life.

If you are ready to have a personal relationship with Jesus, simply repeat this prayer:

Lord Jesus I admit that I am a sinner. I know that you are the son of God and that you died on the Cross for my sins. Lord, I want to live abundantly, come into my heart and live in me and through me. I accept you as my Lord and Savior.

You are now ready to start you path to living life abundantly!

In Christ you WILL achieve it and I rejoice with you!
