There comes a time in everyone’s life that they sit on the edge of their bed, in their car, at their desk, and just say that I have had enough! I have had enough Being Broke Being Sick Being Separated from my Family Being overweight Being Unemployed Being less than what I KNOW God has called me to be Being deceived Being used by the enemy And on and on, the point is you just get tired and then tired of being tired. It’s at this point that the rubber hits the road and you draw you line in the sand and either fight or run. You refuse to be refused or held back any longer! If you fight know that it will not be easy for you. The enemy has spent a great deal of time and energy to get you into this position and he is not going to just go quietly in the night. No! He is going to go kicking and screaming holding onto you for dear life as he knows this is the sure fire way to keep you from achieving all that God has in store for you which is Life and Life more abundantly-John 10:10 and to also stop you from snatching someone else from the fire and sharing the Good Gospel News!-Jude 1:20-23 The bible tells the story of one such man that finally got tired and declared Enough! The Holy Spirit shared with me the way that he did it and I would like the privilege to share it with you; 2 Samuel 23:11-12 11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines had gathered together into a troop where there was a piece of ground full of lentils. Then the people fled from the Philistines. 12 But he stationed himself in the middle of the field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. And the Lord brought about a great victory. This story was about a man that had a garden and every year the Philistines would come and take his harvest. Every year Shammah would work this field, tend, sacrifice and struggle for it to grow so HE and his King can prosper. And every year over the hill comes the enemy, to steal his harvest. It had to be depressing; it had to take away all his self esteem, self worth, not to be able to survive. Perhaps, Shammah had a family to provide for, perhaps, he had bills to pay and yet the enemy would come to steal away his harvest. The enemy is very crafty, once he gets in the door, he encroaches on your territory more and more until you are completely overrun. (Sounds familiar) “It’s just one movie and they just said one curse” Until your saying profanity as easy as breathing. “It’s just one week without paying my tithes.” Until you can’t remember the last time you did and don’t understand why your not getting blessed. “It’s just a date, one kiss won’t hurt.” Until you’re living in sin with fornication. “It’s just one “White Lie”.” Until your doing it openly and having your children help you do it! “It’s just one Sunday, I’m allowed to miss church.” When is the last time you’ve been! “It’s just one drink.” “One smoke” Get the point. Once satan gets a toe hold, he gets the foot hold, until it’s a stronghold! That’s what he did to Shammah, perhaps it was only a section of the field once, now it was the entire harvest! Well, one year Shammah woke up, took a look at his finances, his life and said, Enough is Enough! I bet he waited this year for those Philistines to come over that hill, until they finally got there. Like all the other years they expected him to simply stand aside but the bible says he said No, not one more step, not one more inch of my blessing; he stood right in the middle of the field and yelled his name as loud as he could! He looked at the Philistines and yelled out SHAMMAH! Now that name may not mean anything to you or me in 2006, but the Philistines knew what that word meant because they have heard it before. They heard David speak it when he fought and killed Goliath The word Shammah in Hebrew means, “THE LORD GOD IS PRESENT.” At that point the battle was on! Not only did he defend his harvest but he whooped the enemy and put them on the run! The Apostle Paul said, when there was nothing else to do, you stand! What has the enemy taken away from you today? What has the enemy taken away from you today? Has he taken your Joy? Has he taken your peace? Has he taken your prosperity? Has he taken your health? You too can call upon the Lord to deliver you but first you have to know Him. Before you can call on Jesus you must have a personal relationship with Him. Simply repeat this prayer: Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I know that you are the Son of God and that you came into the world to die for my sins. Come into my heart and live in me and through me. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Satan, I renounce you! You have no claim on me now! I am free from your bondage! Now you are ready! The next time the enemy encroaches on your space and tries to take away your blessing, the next time the enemy, comes to steal, kill, and destroy you or your family, take away your peace, take away your joy, take away your prosperity that God ordained you should have; Stand in the middle of your field, your situation and shout SHAMMAH, THE LORD GOD IS PRESENT! He will run, he has to! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Pastor Chris, |
